Terra Select ( Upgraded )

Starting Price: $74,000
Size & Layout: ~480 sq ft (approx 30’ x 16’ footprint). Still a one-bedroom, one-bath layout, but with a twist: Terra Select’s design incorporates a sleeping loft area accessible via a built-in staircase. The main floor layout includes a larger living area and kitchen, while the loft provides a cozy sleeping quarters or flex space. Higher raised ceilings in parts of the home create an airy atmosphere and allow for the loft. Like all our models, it comes fully wired and plumbed, ready to connect to utilities upon delivery.

Key Features:

  • Enhanced Kitchen: Enjoy cooking in a kitchen equipped with upgraded cabinetry and finishes. Terra Select’s cabinets have a rich wood-veneer finish (still with soft-close hinges) and extra drawers for more storage of your pantry items and cookware. The counters are quartz composite, lending a premium feel and excellent durability for meal prep. Appliances get an upgrade too – a 24” stainless steel refrigerator, a sleek two-burner induction cooktop, and a combo microwave/convection oven provide a more gourmet cooking setup. There’s even space for a convenient dishwasher drawer in this model, so cleanup is a breeze. The deep stainless sink (20”x18”) with a high-arc faucet means you can comfortably wash dishes or fill pots, and it even includes a built-in water filter tap for fresh drinking water at your fingertips.

  • Dining & Living Comfort: Terra Select introduces a built-in dining banquette seating area, cleverly tucked into the layout. This cozy dining booth can seat 3–4 people comfortably, turning meal times into a delightful corner for family and friends. The living area is correspondingly roomier – you can fit a small sofa or loveseat, and there’s additional wall space for decor or shelving. Integrated storage is also a theme: the staircase to the loft doubles as storage cabinets, and you’ll find built-in shelves in the living area so you can display books, plants, or personal treasures.

  • Luxury Bathroom: The bathroom in Terra Select gets a stylish upgrade. You still have a full 36”x36” shower, but here it’s finished with tile surround and a glass door, giving it a spa-like feel. The flush toilet is a water-saving dual-flush model, helping conserve water with each use. The vanity is a floating design (approx 18” wide) with an integrated medicine cabinet above – this makes the room feel larger and provides extra storage for your toiletries. Every fixture, from the rain-style showerhead to the modern faucet, has been selected to add a touch of luxury in a compact space.

  • Upgraded Flooring & Lighting: Throughout the home, you’ll walk on engineered hardwood flooring, bringing warmth and character underfoot. It’s not only beautiful but also durable and suited for the tiny home environment (resistant to expansion/contraction). The lighting plan is enhanced with this model – in addition to energy-efficient overhead LEDs (4 in the kitchen, 4 in living, 2 in bath), Terra Select includes accent wall sconces in the living area and designer exterior light fixtures by the front door. These create a cozy ambiance in the evenings and elevate the overall aesthetic. All interior lighting is on dimmer switches, so you can set the mood whether you’re winding down at night or entertaining guests.

Additional Features:

  • Smart Storage & Amenities: Storage is even more plentiful here. Under the built-in staircase, you’ll find cabinets or cubbies perfect for storing shoes, cleaning supplies, or anything else you want tucked away. The loft area itself can accommodate a queen mattress for sleeping, and it has railing for safety – underneath the loft, you gain open space in the living area or kitchen. Terra Select also comes with a compact washer/dryer combo unit included (tucked under the stairs or in the bathroom area), so laundry is taken care of right at home.

  • Climate Control Upgrades: Like the Core, Terra Select uses a ductless mini-split system for heating and cooling, keeping the climate comfortable year-round. This model adds a programmable thermostat, allowing you to set schedules for heating/cooling – ensuring you’re cozy when home and saving energy when you’re out. Good insulation and double-pane windows with upgraded trim keep the elements at bay and reduce energy usage. The better insulated windows and added thermal mass of the hardwood floors help maintain an even temperature, working with the mini-split to create a very efficient little house. (Tiny House Big Love’s focus on efficiency means lower utility needs and the option to live more sustainably off-grid or with solar in the future.)

  • Exterior & Entry: Terra Select’s curb appeal is enhanced over the basic model. It features a fiberglass entry door with an upgraded lockset and hardware – it’s both lightweight and well-insulated, with a stylish window panel. A proper front porch with a deck comes standard on this model, extending your living space outdoors. The small wooden deck is covered by a porch roof, creating a pleasant outdoor sitting spot or a mudroom transition space. String up some fairy lights or add a couple of chairs, and you have an outdoor lounge right at your door. This model truly bridges indoor comfort with a touch of outdoor living.

Design Highlights: The Terra Select feels like a tiny home that grew up – it retains the welcoming vibe of the Core but adds sophistication. The raised ceiling in the living area (thanks to using high-cube container modules) provides extra headroom and a sense of volume, making the main floor feel larger. This also allowed us to include the loft above part of the home, leveraging vertical space. The interplay of wood tones from the flooring and cabinets with the neutral painted walls creates a modern yet homey atmosphere. In the kitchen, under-cabinet lighting (an added feature in this model) casts a warm glow on the quartz countertops – a detail both practical and atmospheric for evening cooking. Little design flourishes, like the black metal farmhouse-style faucets or the matte black cabinet handles, contribute to a refined, cohesive look. Overall, Terra Select’s interior design balances comfort and elegance, showing that a small home can still feel high-end.

Comfort & Efficiency: Living in Terra Select is comfortable through all seasons. The combination of efficient climate control and improved insulation means you’ll stay warm on winter nights and cool during summer days without high energy usage. For instance, the dual-pane windows and tight build reduce drafts, and the programmable thermostat optimizes energy use by adjusting the temperature when you’re sleeping or away (smart climate control can save a significant portion of heating/cooling costs). The loft sleeping area benefits from the mini-split’s ability to circulate air to multiple zones, so even elevated spaces stay temperate – and a low-profile ceiling fan could be added if desired for extra airflow. Lighting efficiency remains excellent with LEDs throughout, and the addition of dimmers allows you to reduce energy consumption and eye strain in the evenings. All paints, flooring adhesives, and sealants in Select are low-VOC, maintaining healthy indoor air just like the Core model. You can breathe easy knowing your beautiful hardwood floors and wood cabinetry were installed with eco-friendly finishes. In short, Terra Select wraps you in a comfortable, energy-efficient embrace, letting you enjoy upscale living with a minimal footprint.

Sustainability & Warranty: Terra Select continues our commitment to sustainable building. We incorporate recycled-content materials in the finishes – for example, the quartz composite countertops and some of the cabinetry wood are sourced from recycled or reclaimed materials. Water-saving fixtures (like the dual-flush toilet and low-flow showerhead) minimize water use to align with eco-conscious living. And of course, by using shipping containers as the structural base, we are reusing steel that would otherwise require heavy energy to produce new. Every Terra Select comes with a 5-year structural warranty and an additional 1-year warranty on appliances and systems. This means your mini-split unit, refrigerator, and other appliances are covered for the first year, and the integrity of the home’s structure is assured for five. We stand by the quality of these upgraded homes – they’re built to last and to love for years to come.
