Welcome to Tiny House Big Love!

Pleased to meet you, Cherryl here - Chief Crazy at Tiny House, Big Love! I’m diving headfirst into a dream—starting a tiny house company! There’s so much to share, but let me begin with the heart of it all: my vision.

We’ve called Grass Valley home for years, but about three years ago, we faced two evacuations in the same year. We were incredibly fortunate, 1 - that we have another property in Loomis and so we hopped on over as evacuations forced us outside of Grass Valley. But many others weren’t as lucky.

Some of my close friends and acquaintances were at the center of it all, losing their homes and being forced to move from one temporary shelter to another. I remember wishing with all my heart that I could provide them with a little home, something quick and comforting, right here on our property. Not just for them, but for so many others affected by disasters.

That’s when the idea for CareLodge was born. These would be tiny houses on wheels or small, quickly deployable, functional and “cute” shelters. A far better alternative to living in stadiums or school cafeterias during emergencies. My ultimate goal is to design and engineer a mobile, expandable lodge that can be deployed for unplanned disasters—something practical, purposeful, and full of care.

In my personal life, I’ve always loved to build. Whether it’s tinkering on our property or experimenting with alternative materials, I’m constantly creating. I have a passion for giving discarded materials a second life, and I believe in thoughtful design that honors the earth.

This tiny home venture is more than a business—it’s my purpose. It’s a step toward my dream of creating CareLodge while having the absolute joy of building these incredible tiny homes along the way.

What excites me most is the opportunity to give people an affordable way to own a home—a space that’s truly theirs. I’m also thrilled about the potential to create planned Tiny House Communities that feel sophisticated and resort-like, or to provide landowners with creative, alternative options.

And so, Tiny House Big Love was born. It’s a journey full of endless possibilities, spreading goodness one tiny home at a time.
